Scientists in School-Backyard Bugs

Our Backyard Bugs visit from Scientists in School was fantastic.

The students rotated through 5 centres.
1.  Dramatize the life cycle of the monarch butterfly from egg to larvae to pupa (chrysalis) to butterfly.  Drinking nectar.
Thank you Alana's mom for helping at this centre.

2.  Build an insect with 3 body parts, 6 legs, 2 antennae, 2 wings and eyes.
Thank you Seth's mom for helping at this centre.

3.  How does an insect eat?  Use an eyedropper to suck up nectar.  Look at meal worms.
Thank you Scientist for helping at this centre.

4.  Looking at insects up close.  Is it an insect, is it not?
Thank you Ms. Embree for helping at this centre.

5.  How insects camouflage.
Thank you Madison's mom for helping at this centre.

Lots of pictures below.
