February Theme Days

Friday February 10 - When I Grow Up Day
Students dress up as 'what they want to be when they grow up'.
E.g., baseball jersey - baseball player, firefighter costume - firefighter,
poncho & black boots - Mrs. Scott

Friday February 24 - Favourite Character Day
Pick a favourite story book or movie character to be.

Valentine's Day

Sorry I didn't get this out sooner.  We do celebrate Valentine's Day in Kindergarten.
Your child will need 15 Valentine's (homemade or store bought).
He/she needs to sign his/her name on each.
DO NOT ADDRESS EACH VALENTINE PLEASE.
Each child will have a mailbox they have decorated.
On Valentine's Day, each student delivers their mail (cards) into each mailbox.
We send them home at the end of the day.

You can send the Valentine's in early if you like.  Just put them in a small baggie in the iBag.
Thanks for your support.

Check It Out!

Look at all the cool things that have been going on in our classroom since the New Year.
Mrs. Crossley made an amazing firepit/ice fishing drama centre including marshmallows and hot dogs on a stick.
Water beads (aka orbies), candy building toy, Mobilo, snow/ice experiments, the list goes on.....

Here are some of the math learning centres set out last week.  Ask your child to talk about a couple of their favourite places to play.

Special Days

Please check the Fridays in December.  We have many special days to celebrate the holiday season.
December 2 is Beach Day.
December 16 is Pyjama Day.
December 22 is Holiday Sweater Day.

Friday December 2

Friday will be Beach Day!  Wear sunny, beachy things to school (no bathing suits please).

For the rest of the school, it is Superhero Day.  In Kindergarten land, Superhero Day is like giving all the Kindergarten students 3 espressos for breakfast and then putting them in their Halloween costume before sending them to school.  I'm sure you can appreciate why we prefer Beach Day.

We look forward to a fun day in the sun!
