Spring Fling

This message is from Patti Smith, from the Highview School Council. It's a fun event and a good way to get to know your neighbours.  Consider signing on to help with a friend or meet someone new at the fair.

It is starting to warm up and we are very excited about our annual Spring Fair at Highview Public School.   This year our fair is June 4th.

Our fair would not be successful without the support of our generous volunteers.

We are looking for volunteers to help from 3:30 to 9:00.  We have spots available for games food and drink stations and ticket booth.

Times slots are from 3:30 - 5:00 set up, 6:00 - 7:008:00 - 9:00 and tear down from 9:00 on.

We will also be looking for volunteers to help with putting up posters up the week before the fair.

This is a great opportunity for any student looking for their volunteer hours.

If you have an hour available or a whole evening to spare we need you.

Please email me at pslovinglife@hotmail.com or call me at 416-801-6026.

Thanks

Goopy Noses

Please review proper sneezing and nose blowing etiquette with your child.  We are encouraging students to sneeze into their elbows and to use kleenex.  We send them to wash their hands afterwards.  If they have really goopy noses or a big cough, please consider keeping them at home.   There are 50 students in our Kindergarten space that could catch some of those flying germs.  We do our best to keep the passing of germs to a minimum but it's not a perfect science here in the Kindergarten.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Safety Plan

We are learning about community helpers this week.  Today we read about the firefighter.  Please make a safety plan for your family in case of fire.
How do I get out of the house?
Is there another way to get out of the house?
Where do I go once I am outside?
Who should we call?

Wearing Blue

We read this book about a boy with autism to bring awareness and understanding as to why we are wearing blue today.
